The Team

KPMG's Infrastructure Team in the UK consists of around 400 professionals and is recognized as a leading independent financial and business adviser in infrastructure. We advise on strategic, financial, regulatory, and commercial issues across various industries in the UK and internationally. Currently, we are a lead advisor on the financial and economic aspects of business rates valuations, especially assets valued using the receipts and expenditure (R&E) method. We are expanding our business rates capabilities into other industries where different valuation methods are applied.

The Role

We seek a highly motivated individual to join our regulatory finance team as an Associate Director focusing on business rates. The role involves leading the development of our business rates practice, contributing to our utilities regulatory consulting, and working closely with KPMG's Tax practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects and manage client relationships with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure high standards in client work, manage interactions, budgets, and risk processes.
  • Lead project teams of 2-12 people, fostering collaboration and positive attitudes.
  • Support sales efforts by building relationships and identifying new opportunities.
  • Contribute to the management and development of the P&U Regulatory Finance team, including recruitment, mentoring, and thought leadership.

The Person

Qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified MRICS rating surveyor.
  • Extensive experience in business rates advisory and appeals across diverse UK property portfolios.
  • Experience managing large projects and teams.
  • Ability to explain business rates concepts clearly, with strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable in external client-facing roles.
  • Independent thinker with problem-solving skills and innovative mindset.
  • Business development experience is desirable.

We pride ourselves on being different and are committed to growth and development. Joining us offers an attractive benefits package, including:

  • Competitive salary, pension, bonus scheme, travel reimbursements, staff discounts, and banking benefits.
  • 25 days holiday plus options to buy more, parental leave, volunteering days, lunch allowance, and flexible benefits.
  • Private medical and accident insurance, life assurance, private GP access, health assessments, employee assistance programs, and income protection.
