Job Description:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, responsible for the electrical design, development, and delivery of switch-mode power supplies used within Industrial, Healthcare, and Technology applications.

Level of Autonomy and Experience:

• Limited supervision in electrical design for high-performance switch mode power supplies.
• Development and optimisation of performance to meet specifications, cost, and milestones.
• Delivery of high integrity designs for mass production, ensuring ease of manufacture, reliability, and customer integration.
• Accountability for project delivery and mentoring Level 1 Electrical Power Supply Design Engineers.
• 5+ years’ experience in AC-DC switch-mode power supply design from conception to production.

Qualifications

Design:

• Work in a multidisciplinary R&D team to deliver product designs aligned with XP Core Values.
• Provide technical expertise in new product design and modifications.
• Specify and ensure compliance of designs throughout the product lifecycle.
• Component selection considering obsolescence, availability, and cost.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of production processes.
• Maintain consistency in design reviews, verification, and qualification.
• Stay updated with new technologies, experiment, and collaborate with colleagues.
• Foster creativity and innovation in design solutions.

Documentation:

• Review and create engineering documentation.
• Ensure documentation completeness for smooth transition to manufacturing.
• Participate actively in project milestones and deliverables.
• Report on electrical design status and address queries from customers.
• Liaise with other departments to meet customer requests promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering/Power Electronics or equivalent experience.
• Proven knowledge of different topologies, EMC, thermals, magnetic design, analogue, and some digital design.
