REQUIREMENT INFORMATION
Job Title: Power Platform Consultant
Envisaged Hours: 37.5 per week
Location: Culham, Oxfordshire
Building on the foundational work creating a Power Platform Centre of Excellence at UKAEA. Develop applications within the team and provide a consultancy service to help others in the organisation develop and deploy Power Platform applications and workflows. Work closely with Finance, Projects, and Engineering teams to develop Power BI dashboards and integrate and refine sources of data.
Draw on own experience and other guidance such as the Power Platform Adoption Framework and the MS Power Platform Centre of Excellence. Assist with requirements capture, prioritisation, and development of design blueprints.
Develop Power Apps (canvas/model-driven), Power Automate workflows, and Power BI dashboards and reports as required by the Business Systems Team Leader. Utilise existing UKAEA data sources, tools, and approaches, and recommend and adopt others, e.g., Common Data Service (CDS), Power Agents. Ensure high-quality, resilient data and incorporate security, privacy, and accessibility considerations. Follow the systems development lifecycle, including analysis, development, configuration, documentation, testing, implementation, and review.
Provide ongoing third-tier application support. Periodically analyse third-tier requests, identify patterns, and provide tools, documentation, or training to business teams and the service desk to resolve issues.
Administer the UKAEA Power Platform Admin Centre in collaboration with the Windows Admin Section, and communicate policies and governance processes that balance control with flexibility.
Deliver training and awareness activities for developers and stakeholders. Explain Power Platform capabilities and limitations. Provide hands-on training for departmental developers and facilitate handover of tools and services to trained personnel.
Contribute to the Power Platform Champions user group to foster support and advice within UKAEA. Organise talks, drop-in sessions, and workshops to enhance skills, share ideas, and promote innovative approaches.
