A leading company in the energy-from-waste sector is seeking a Maintenance Manager for their Bridgwater site. The role involves managing a team of technicians, overseeing maintenance schedules, and ensuring maximum plant availability. Candidates should have substantial experience in a relevant heavy process industry, ideally with a background in power or biomass.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance/engineering in a relevant heavy process industry.
  • Practical understanding of boilers, steam, pressure parts, and associated equipment.
  • Experience managing a team/department budget.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager to join our EFW client in Bridgwater.

Position Type: Permanent


Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00


Responsibilities
  1. Managing and directing a team of mechanical, electrical, and C&I technicians to ensure minimum plant downtime and maximum availability.
  2. Planning and executing plant shutdowns/outages.
  3. Managing the department's maintenance budget.
  4. Overseeing the management of the maintenance schedule.
  5. Developing and maintaining records of plant maintenance, including work orders, PPMs, and planned and unplanned outages and inspections.
  6. Overseeing on-site contractors.
  7. Deputising for the Plant Manager when required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance/engineering in a relevant heavy process industry, ideally power, but industries such as chemical production, aggregate, or similar.
  • Practical understanding of boilers, steam, pressure parts, and associated equipment.
  • Experience managing a team/department budget.
  • Experience in a management or supervisory role.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Must have a background in power, biomass, or EFW industries.
