Job description

M&E Global is a defence contractor undertaking services on complex military equipment and aircraft for UK and US contractors. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Power Generation Mechanic to join our team.

The Role

Based in Fairford, UK, you’ll work alongside our dedicated workforce on a UK Military base.

Prior Power Generation maintenance experience is required, although additional training will be provided on site.

This role offers a great chance to develop your skills as a Power Generation Mechanic, working on a diverse range of military equipment in an exciting environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, test, repair, service, and store electrical generating equipment, water distribution systems, flood lights, air compressors, and aircraft arresting systems. Conduct inspections, scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair all assigned equipment.
  • Inspect electrical equipment and systems for damages, corrosion, and proper operation.
  • Use test equipment and meters such as voltmeters, ammeters, megohmmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Utilize hand tools, conduit benders, soldering irons, and grounding systems.
  • Install, repair, and service electrical power distribution systems and equipment.
  • Check repairable components, subassemblies, and solid-state components using test equipment and load banks.
  • Test gauges and meters for accuracy and reliability.
  • Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and maintenance data to prevent system failures.
  • Analyze malfunctions through inspection and testing.
  • Maintain and reconstitute BEAR assets/equipment for air, sea, and road shipments following USAF and company directives.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair all assigned equipment.
  • Follow safety, hazardous material, and quality standards per USAF and company policies.
  • Assist in erecting, constructing, and operating power generation equipment for exercises and contingencies.
  • Ensure tools and protective equipment are safe and report deficiencies.
  • Complete documentation such as Work Orders and update Maximo.
  • Operate material handling equipment as needed.
  • Inspect and coordinate disposal of hazardous materials.
