Job description

Dyson has an opportunity for power electronics engineers at varying levels to join the highly successful Power Electronics and Energy Storage group.

The Power Electronics and Energy Storage group is a multidisciplinary team responsible for the development of Dyson Digital Motors and Lithium-Ion battery management systems.

Dyson Digital Motors are small, lightweight, yet extremely powerful; they power the next generation of handheld vacuum cleaners and the Dyson hair care range. Dyson's battery management systems provide high-power energy sources for cordless and robot products.

About the role

  • Create and implement world-leading designs to produce high-quality products.
  • Design mains and battery-powered electronics to meet global product requirements.
  • Actively generate innovative ideas.
  • Communicate effectively with other teams to ensure successful project delivery.

About you

  • Degree or equivalent experience in electronic engineering or a comparable discipline.
  • Expected graduation by August 2025.
  • Interest in electronic design industry or similar environment.
  • Experience in designing and developing electronic circuits, motor drives, inverters, SMPS, or other power electronics products.
  • Knowledge of Battery Management Systems and secondary battery technologies is a plus.
  • Ability to work and communicate within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex ideas to experts in different fields.
  • Knowledge of electronics circuit simulation and analysis.
  • Proficiency with PCB/schematic capture tools.
  • Ability to understand schematic diagrams and PCB layouts.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Innovative problem solver with a creative mindset.
