Job Title: Power Electronics Engineer - Drive Systems

Location: Rugby

Salary: Up to £70,000 + Benefits and Flexible Working

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Power Electronics Engineer to join our client's growing engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking company where you will contribute to the full product lifecycle - from concept and design through to testing and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop power electronic circuits and systems for drive applications.
  • Contribute to the specification, simulation, and validation of power electronic designs.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including hardware, software, and mechanical engineers.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and fault-finding.
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise across projects to deliver robust and innovative solutions.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in power electronics design, ideally for motor drives or similar applications.
  • Strong knowledge of inverter and converter topologies.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with testing and validation of power electronic hardware.
  • Good understanding of EMC, thermal management, and reliability considerations.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
