Job description

Position: Power Cable Management

Location: Aztec West, Bristol

Hybrid: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote

Arrangement: Staffed

Salary: Up to £45,000

NUVIA UK's Technical Services & Consulting department is rapidly growing, offering hybrid opportunities across the country. We aim to build a multidisciplinary team to provide our clients with top-tier talent.

Note: BPSS clearance at basic level is required; previous clearance is not transferable.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Perform engineering analysis and supporting calculations for electrical systems to produce necessary documentation for HPC projects.
  2. Serve as the main contact for system or electrical activities.

Main activities:

  1. Verify and consolidate input data for cabling activities.
  2. Assess the quality of input data from system, equipment, I&C, and cabling engineers.
  3. Create documents for cable lists, voltage plans, summaries, and calculations.
  4. Develop documentation for electrical sub-distribution sequences.
  5. Ensure design deliverables meet EPR-E quality standards.
  6. Draft client deliverables for site activities.
  7. Manage open points, design changes, and interfaces, maintaining traceability and configuration control.
  8. Report project status and metrics to the team and client.
  9. Represent EPR-E in technical discussions with clients.
  10. Coordinate interfaces with contract holders' cable lists.
  11. Ensure design consistency for electrical penetrations and cable routing.

Qualifications, experience, and skills:

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of EPR electrical cabling sequences.
  • Experience in producing design documentation.
  • Understanding of electrical cable sizing.
  • Relevant nuclear industry experience.
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.
  • Proactive approach and confidence in communication, including with remote teams in France and Germany.
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships and seek continuous improvement.

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of EPR electrical distribution, I&C architecture, and Safety Classification.
  • Experience with Caneco tool.
  • Experience working on operational or industrial sites.
  • French language skills for technical documentation.
