Overview

A client of ours are in search of an SC cleared Power BI Specialist to support data-driven decision-making for one of their defence accounts. This role is pivotal in transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that enhance operational efficiency, strategic planning, and mission success.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to Defence operational needs
• Collaborate with stakeholders across intelligence, logistics, and command teams to understand data requirements
• Integrate data from secure sources including SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and bespoke Defence systems
• Ensure compliance with MOD data governance, security protocols, and reporting standards
• Optimise data models for performance and scalability in high-security environments
• Provide training and support to end-users, fostering a data-literate culture across the organisation
• Contribute to the development of data strategy and analytics capability within the Defence client

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query, Dataflows, Row-Level Security)
• Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and visual storytelling
• Experience working in secure environments with classified or sensitive data
• Familiarity with MOD or Defence sector reporting frameworks and terminology
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to work independently under strict confidentiality and compliance standards
• Active SC clearance (used within the last 12 months)
• Experience working with Fabric

Desirable

• Experience with Azure Data Services, SQL Server, or other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik)
• Knowledge of Defence operations, logistics, or intelligence workflows
• Background in data science or advanced analytics (Python, R, ML models)
