Job description

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Power BI Developer, you will be the key conduit between our business units, ensuring comprehensive understanding and translation of requirements for new deliverables that provide tangible business value. Your role will involve harnessing your SQL and Power BI background to offer data-driven insights and analysis that underpin decision-making processes. The successful candidate will be proficient in managing and interpreting data sets and will leverage this expertise to assist the business in making informed decisions. Exceptional communication skills are a must, as the role involves presenting findings effectively to a range of stakeholders.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Report Production:

  1. Translate business needs into comprehensive reporting and dashboard requirements.
  2. Collaborate closely with key business stakeholders to understand and document their reporting requirements.

Design and Development:

  1. Design, build, and evolve Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring they are produced timely and accurately.
  2. Liaise with key stakeholders to confirm that the reports meet their needs and are delivered as required.

Data Insight and Analysis:

  1. Provide actionable insights from data and reporting.
  2. Develop and maintain comprehensive reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and support strategic planning.

Data Analysis:

  1. Undertake impact assessment, issue investigation, analysis, and resolution to maintain current reports and support the development of new reports.
  2. Provide adhoc datasets to answer business questions.
  3. Collect, analyse, and interpret data from various sources to provide insights for decision-making.

Stakeholder Management:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data and reporting needs.
  2. Address any questions or concerns raised by stakeholders and provide additional information as required.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  1. Ensure all reports comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. A relevant degree or professional certifications (desirable).
KNOWLEDGE
  1. SQL (essential).
  2. Power BI (essential).
  3. DAX / MQuery.
  4. Snowflake experience (desirable).
  5. Stakeholder management skills.
  6. Data modelling.
  7. Star schema.
EXPERIENCE
  1. Insurance or Finance background (desirable).
  2. Demonstrated experience with data management and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau).
  3. Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for driving innovation through data.
