Lead Consultant - Higher Education at TRIA

Power BI Developer – Fully Remote contract, 6 months Outside IR35

We are seeking an experienced Power BI specialist to lead a significant project for a major client. This role is outside IR35 and requires someone who can quickly adapt and take charge of the scope of work.

Key Objectives

Utilize the Power BI stack to transform business requirements and complex data into streamlined data models and effective visualizations, delivering an optimal user experience and guiding users to actionable insights and data-driven decisions.

Scope of Work

• End-to-end requirements gathering, design, and implementation of BI solutions using Power BI
• Connect Power BI to diverse data sources and establish optimized data models
• Create user-tailored data visualizations to facilitate insights
• Engage with business stakeholders to define requirements
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical team members, including business analysts and data engineers
• Troubleshoot data and Power BI-related issues and maintain Power BI infrastructure
• Implement data governance and security, utilizing features like row-level security
• Stay updated on the latest trends in Power BI and data visualization
• Proficient with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
• Advanced skills in DAX and Power Query M Code
• Experience with MSSQL
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Proactive, motivated, and curious with a focus on continuous improvement

Additional Skills (Optional)

• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of Power BI admin portal
• Understanding of Power BI capacity management
