Job description

Hybrid - London, England, United Kingdom

Sep 3, 2026

The role:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Power BI Developer to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in London. In this mid-level role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports that provide the finance community with clear, accurate, and timely insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the firm — from finance business partners to senior leadership — translating business requirements into robust and visually compelling reporting solutions. Strong analytical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to engage confidently with colleagues at all levels of seniority will be key to your success in this role.

What will you do:

Design, develop, and deploy Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to the needs of the finance community, including FP&A, management accounting, and senior leadership.

Engage directly with finance stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business and reporting requirements, applying strong business analyst skills throughout.

Translate complex financial data into clear, user-friendly visualisations that drive insight and support decision-making.

Conduct thorough testing of all reports and dashboards prior to release, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with agreed requirements.

Manage the full lifecycle of reporting development, from initial scoping and design through to delivery, sign-off, and ongoing maintenance.

Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing reports, streamline data models, and enhance the overall reporting infrastructure.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority, adapting your style accordingly — from technical discussions with IT teams to executive-level presentations.

Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for all reports, data sources, and development processes.

Support the broader FP&A team with ad-hoc data analysis and reporting requests as required.

What we are looking for:

Proven experience developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards in a professional environment.

Strong business analyst capabilities, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and translating business needs into technical solutions.

Excellent attention to detail with a rigorous approach to testing, data validation, and quality assurance before deployment.

Ability to work with multiple stakeholders simultaneously, managing competing priorities and deadlines effectively.

Solid understanding of financial data, reporting concepts, and FP&A processes (e.g. budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis).

Confident communicator, comfortable presenting and discussing work with audiences ranging from analysts to senior leadership.

Proficiency in data modelling, data transformation, and connecting Power BI to various data sources (e.g. SQL, Excel, ERP systems).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.

The following are not requirements for this role but would be considered advantageous:

Knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating calculated columns, measures, and KPIs within Power BI.

Previous experience working within a law firm or professional services environment, with an understanding of the associated financial reporting landscape.

Familiarity with Power Query (M language) for advanced data transformation.

Experience working with financial systems such as Elite 3E, Aderant, or SAP.

Exposure to other BI or analytics tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, or SQL Server Reporting Services).

Personal Attributes

Highly organised with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Collaborative team player who builds positive working relationships across the business.

Inquisitive and self-motivated, with a genuine interest in data and financial analysis.

Professional and composed when dealing with senior stakeholders, with the confidence to challenge requirements constructively where appropriate.

Committed to continuous improvement and keeping up to date with developments in Power BI and the broader Microsoft data ecosystem.
