Job description

Do you enjoy turning data into decisions?

Are you confident building visual stories from complex information?

Want to work in a business that genuinely values insight?

We’re working with a growing collective of businesses spanning the insurance and legal sectors. As they continue to invest in their data capability, they’re looking for a Power BI Analyst to help shape reporting and insight across the group.

This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who enjoys creating clear accessible dashboards whilst knowing how to engage stakeholders at every level. You’ll be translating business questions into powerful data stories that support strategic thinking and day-to-day decisions.

Working across several companies in the group, you'll be using Power BI to design and deliver dashboards and reports that are both beautiful and useful. You’ll build and optimise data models, write reliable SQL queries and help embed self-serve reporting throughout the business.

You’ll collaborate with analysts and operational leaders, understand the story behind the data and shape how that insight is delivered. Expect a mix of structured dashboards and quick-turnaround tactical MI — no two weeks will look quite the same.

We're ideally looking for:

  • 3+ years’ experience in reporting and analytics
  • Strong Power BI experience — including DAX, M Query and Power BI modelling
  • Confident writing SQL queries (ideally SQL Server)
  • Advanced Excel skills and a keen eye for clean, user-friendly reporting
  • A clear communicator who’s comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Experience working in Agile teams, ideally using tools like Azure DevOps

The cherry on the top of the cake would be any previous experience with Crystal Reports - whilst they are fully embracing Power BI, there are some incumbent reports ran in Crystal so being able to understand and translate them would be a huge bonus.

The team operate on a flexible hybrid model — expect three days a week in the Cheadle HQ with the rest done at home.

Sound like a bit of you?
