Job summary

Cranswick Country Foods Fresh Poultry in Eye, Suffolk, is seeking a Poultry Inspection Assistant to join our Production team. You will be responsible for removing any damaged product from the line and performing post-mortem inspections in a fast-paced environment.

The role is Monday to Friday, 14:15–22:45, on-site with a pay rate of £15.67 per hour and a range of employee benefits including a pension, wellbeing hub, cycle to work, and discounted gym membership.

Qualifications

• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• FDQ Level 2 award for proficiency in poultry meat inspection.
• Level 2 H&S awareness; Food Safety for Manufacturing; Manual Handling.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safety and quality checks on time in full, meeting site and customer requirements.
• Remove unfit, diseased or damaged birds from the production line.
• Accurately identify and record reasons why birds are not fit for human consumption.
• Report high levels of rejects to management.
• Ensure food safety and animal welfare are delivered at all times.
• Maintain accurate records in line with PMI training standards.

Job requirements of PIA: We are looking for a PIA to join our established Production team at Cranswick Country Foods Fresh Poultry in Eye, Suffolk. You will be responsible for removing any damaged product off the line.

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 14:15 - 22:45pm

Duties

Complete agreed safety, quality checks on time in full at quality, meeting or exceeding site and customer requirements.

Ensure maximum efficiency within work area

Ensure accurate record keeping

Remove all unfit, diseased or damaged birds from the production line.

Accurately Identify and record reasons why birds are not fit for human consumption.

Report any high level of rejects to any member of the management team.

Ensure food safety and animal welfare is delivered at all times.

Ensure accurate record keeping is in line with PMI training standards and you are demonstrating attention to detail

D/5002/2204 - Carry out post-mortem inspection of broilers and hens.

H/502/2205 - Principles of post-mortem inspection of broilers and hens.

Y/502/2203 - Understand how to use food safety management procedure for post-mortem inspection of poultry.
