Job summary

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification is required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the poultry farm.
• Maintain bird welfare and health standards.
• Monitor flock performance, feed conversion, mortality and growth.
• Ensure biosecurity procedures are followed.
• Manage and motivate farm staff when required.
• Maintain accurate farm records and paperwork.
• Work with vets, nutritionists and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity and farm performance.
• Ensure compliance with company, industry and legislative standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean and efficient working environment.

We are recruiting on behalf of an established and forward-thinking poultry business for an experienced Poultry Farm Manager to take responsibility for a brand-new modern poultry unit based in Yorkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced poultry professional looking to take ownership of a well-managed unit and play an important role in its continued development.

The Role

As Poultry Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the farm, ensuring high standards of bird welfare, performance, health, biosecurity and overall farm efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the day-to-day running of the poultry farm
• Maintaining exceptional bird welfare and health standards
• Monitoring flock performance, feed conversion, mortality and growth
• Ensuring strict biosecurity procedures are followed
• Managing and motivating farm staff where required
• Maintaining accurate farm records and completing relevant paperwork
• Working closely with vets, nutritionists, company representatives and other stakeholders
• Identifying opportunities to improve productivity and farm performance
• Ensuring the farm meets all relevant company, industry and legislative standards
• Maintaining a safe, clean and efficient working environment

About You

We are looking for an experienced Poultry Farm Manager, Broiler Farm Manager or experienced Assistant Farm Manager with a strong understanding of modern poultry production.

You will ideally have:

• Previous commercial poultry farming experience
• Strong knowledge of broiler production
• Excellent understanding of bird welfare and biosecurity
• Good attention to detail and record-keeping skills
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of the farm
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A genuine passion for poultry production and achieving excellent results
