Job description

Job Title: Postgraduate Research Coordinator

We are seeking to recruit an experienced, dynamic, and proactive Postgraduate Research Coordinator to join the Doctoral Academy in the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE).

The main purpose of this role is to coordinate the effective delivery of Postgraduate Research Operations, work alongside senior colleagues, manage the work of the team, and support academic, professional services, and stakeholders to deliver a high standard of student experience and customer service.

The post will primarily support workload within the Postgraduate Research Experience team, supervising administrators and assistants. Areas include, but are not limited to:

  1. Award competitions
  2. Communications
  3. Compliance and Regulatory practices
  4. Conference and event management
  5. Funding competitions
  6. Induction event coordination
  7. PGR experience surveys
  8. PGR representative scheme

The post holder should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience supervising staff, the ability to use initiative, manage busy workloads, prioritize to meet deadlines, and be flexible and responsive. A shared commitment to supporting the Doctoral research community is essential. Knowledge of structures and processes within large, complex organizations, ideally in Postgraduate Research support within a Higher Education environment, is preferred.
