The University of Oxford's Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences invites applications for a postdoctoral research assistant in the Kapetanovic Group. The project centres on translational retinal gene therapy using AAV-based approaches, with in vitro and in vivo proof-of-concept studies to support preclinical development.

You will work under Professor Jasmina Kapetanovic, contribute to milestone-driven research across retinal biology, vector technology and translational medicine, and

Qualifications

• PhD in biomedical sciences or a related field.
• Experience in development of retinal gene therapies, including viral vector engineering and electrophysiological, functional and behavioural assays.
• Background in retinal research with in vitro and in vivo models of genetic eye diseases is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Carry out research for a discrete area of a large project and contribute to milestone-driven studies.
• Provide guidance to less experienced team members, including postdocs and PhD students.
