Job summary

The Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) in Cambridge is seeking a highly capable researcher to join the Kornfeld group to investigate how learned behaviours are encoded in brain synaptic networks. The role covers tissue preparation, imaging, and data analysis using expansion and electron microscopy to map connections across model organisms.

Qualifications

• PhD in neuroscience, neurobiology or related field, or expected within 6 months.
• Hands-on experience with expansion microscopy and electron microscopy for connectomics.
• Ability to manage and analyze large imaging datasets and extract insights.

Responsibilities

• Investigate how learned behaviours are encoded in brain synaptic networks.
• Perform high‑resolution 3D electron microscopy and expansion microscopy to map synaptic connections.
• Tissue preparation, imaging and data acquisition, followed by detailed analysis of large datasets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and contribute to publications.
