UKRI - UK Research and Innovation is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist for the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) in Cambridge. The role focuses on mapping and analysing synaptic networks to link them with behavioural outputs, within a three-year training and development program.

You will work under joint supervision of Dr Joergen Kornfeld and Dr Greg Jefferis, applying advanced techniques and collaborating across groups to advance connectomics and memory research.

Formación

• PhD in neuroscience, neurobiology, or related field or to complete within 6 months.
• Experience with high‑resolution 3D electron microscopy and expansion microscopy.
• Experience analyzing large imaging datasets, especially connectomics or EM mapping.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and execute research to map and analyze synaptic connections underlying complex behaviours.
• Develop and apply techniques including high‑resolution EM and data analysis methods.
• Present scientific work at seminars and conferences.
• Draft papers and contribute to publication readiness.
• Engage in public engagement and translation of research findings.
• Mentor PhD students and trainees in the group.
