The Phage seeks a creative postdoctoral researcher to join the Liu Lab for Synthetic Evolution, advancing how biological sequences determine function using evolution and machine learning.

Lead experiments, develop new methods, and analyze complex datasets to map sequence-function relationships. You will collaborate across synthetic biology and computational biology and mentor junior team members in a dynamic, fixed-term role.

Formación

• PhD in a relevant field such as synthetic biology, molecular biology, genetics or related discipline.
• Strong track record of high-quality research and ability to complete projects.
• Experience in experimental and/or computational methods and clear scientific writing.

Responsabilidades

• Design, perform and troubleshoot experiments in synthetic biology and evolutionary engineering.
• Develop new methods and adapt existing approaches to address research questions.
• Analyze complex datasets using appropriate computational tools.
• Investigate links between sequences, structures and functions.
• Contribute to planning, hypothesis generation and identifying new opportunities.
• Prepare manuscripts, reports, and experimental protocols.
• Present findings at conferences and internal meetings.
• Collaborate across synthetic and computational biology and related disciplines.
• Mentor PhD students and junior team members.
