As a member of the team, the post-holder will be working in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of researchers in Guy’s Campus, Denmark Hill and UCL.

As a member of the team, the post-holder will be working in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of researchers in Guy’s Campus, Denmark Hill and UCL.

About The Role

To investigate the cellular mechanisms underlying schizophrenia-related symptoms in animal models (mice), in the context of a collaborative project with clinicians and computational scientists. This project will be supervised by Prof Oscar Marin and Prof Beatriz Rico.

Candidates should have strong experience in stereotaxic surgeries and Electrophysiology recordings in vivo in rodents, as well as experience in the analysis of Electrophysiological signals.

This is a full-time position and you will be offered a fixed term contract until the 1st September 2027.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential Criteria

  • PhD in Neuroscience
  • Experience in rodent stereotaxic surgeries.
  • Experience in Electrophysiology recordings in vivo in rodents
  • Experience in Electrophysiological signal analysis
  • Papers published from the PhD

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of the cerebral cortex
  • Ability to design and troubleshoot research questions
