Job description

Postdoctoral Research Fellow for Advanced Photochemistry and Biochemical Synthesis, London

About the role

We are seeking a talented postdoctoral researcher to work on the UKRI project "SPARK 3D" at UCL. You will design and explore synthesis, caging, and release of various caged compounds and growth factor molecules to instruct the spatiotemporal evolution of cellular systems in 3D microenvironments. Your work will contribute to building an in vitro model of physiological tissue, focusing on micro- and macro-vasculature and neuro-vasculature, under external stimulation with released chemical and biological growth factors. You will collaborate with experts across academic and industrial sectors.

This is a full-time, two-year position available immediately. The role offers extensive networking and collaboration opportunities within UCL and internationally.

About you

We seek a motivated Postdoctoral fellow with skills in biochemical, photochemistry, and optobiology. You will develop biomodulation and biostimulation systems to control bioprinted tissue growth in vitro.

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biology, Materials Science, Engineering, or related fields.

Please include a cover letter, CV with research achievements, publications, and online profiles if applicable in your application. Informal inquiries can be directed to Dr. Hossein Heidari.
