Job summary

The University of Bath invites applications for an EPSRC-funded Research Associate in Analysis to work with Dr Matthew Schrecker on nonlinear PDEs and gravitational collapse.

You will join the Analysis Group, participate in seminars and reading groups, and have the opportunity to contribute to teaching. The role is a 24‑month fixed-term position with pro rata development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • PhD in mathematics, strong background in analysis and nonlinear PDEs.
  • Expertise in fluid mechanics, nonlinear wave equations, or hyperbolic conservation laws is welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Work on research topics related to singularity formation and stability in self-gravitating fluids as part of the EPSRC grant.
  • Join the Bath Analysis Group, participate in seminars and reading groups, and contribute to scholarly activities.
  • Potentially teach a small amount of teaching as part of the role.
