A leading research organization in the UK is looking for a firmware developer to work on the ATLAS L1Calo and global upgrade project. Candidates should possess a PhD or equivalent in physics, engineering, or computing science, with strong skills in C++ and Python. The role includes supporting PhD students and collaborating on important upgrades for high-luminosity experiments.
The ATLAS L1Calo/Global upgrade project is primarily a firmware development based on a common multipurpose hardware module. It requires extensive software development across various areas. You will join the ATLAS group in the Particle Physics Research Centre, working within our L1Calo team, making significant contributions to the ATLAS calorimeter trigger upgrade for the high-luminosity LHC. You will also support our PhD students and contribute to the broader activities of the group and the school.
About You
You should have completed or be close to completing a PhD or possess research qualifications/experience equivalent to a PhD in a relevant field such as physics, engineering, or computing science. Essential skills include strong knowledge of C++ and Python, familiarity with code repositories, and the ability to work collaboratively.
