Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. This position supports research on a Leverhulme Research Project awarded to Dr. Kim Bouwer, titled: A study of everyday climate litigation: examining law in the climate context.
This three-year project aims to understand how everyday legal disputes are fought and resolved in the context of climate change. This is an almost untouched area of legal study, despite the extensive scholarly and policy work on 'climate litigation'. The project seeks to establish a comprehensive understanding of the 'field' of litigation related to climate change, including cases where litigants pursue their personal interests.
Since this role is grant-funded, it is a fixed-term position for three years, aligned with the duration of the grant.
A postdoctoral research assistant with a completed or submitted PhD in climate change law or policy will be recruited at 80% full-time equivalent, with remote working available. The role is designed to allow time for separate teaching commitments, family responsibilities, or writing up a PhD or monograph.
