Job summary

University of Liverpool is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to lead a funded project in the School of Pharmacy and Pharm Sci. The role focuses on developing a novel chemical-free antimicrobial technology, conducting experiments, building prototypes, and generating data for commercial development.

You will collaborate with academic and industrial partners, contribute to IP, regulatory and commercialization strategies, and advance the project over a seven-month fixed term.

You will conduct experimental research to optimise and validate the technology, design and build prototypes, and generate data to support commercial development. Working closely with academic and industrial partners, they will also identify potential application areas, engage with commercial partners, support business development activities, and contribute to intellectual property, regulatory, and commercialisation strategies. You should have a PhD degree in following areas, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline and experience of antimicrobial material development would be preferred. The post is available for 7 months. If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
