Job summary

UNSW Cities Institute invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow (Level B) to conduct independent and collaborative research on Indigenous planning and land use. The role supports an ARC Linkage project and emphasizes engagement with Aboriginal and other partners, aligned with ethical frameworks.

Reporting to the Scientia Fellow, the fellow will contribute to policy outputs, drive fieldwork, and develop a research profile with potential leadership in the area.

Qualifications

• PhD in geography, planning, political economy or law or related field.
• Extensive experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Experience conducting research under AIATSIS ethics and with Indigenous IP protocols.

Responsibilities

• Undertake independent and collaborative research on Indigenous planning and land use.
• Engage with Aboriginal partners and other stakeholders for ethical research outputs.
• Travel for fieldwork and multi-town engagements across NSW.
• Prepare high-quality outputs and contribute to grant applications.
