Job summary

University of Southampton seeks a skilled postdoctoral researcher in computational inorganic chemistry within the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. The role focuses on modelling transition metal precursor complexes using advanced quantum methods, in support of the EXPRESS programme.

You will work with researchers across chemistry, physics and engineering, contributing to a major EPSRC-funded initiative and advancing understanding of TMDC precursor chemistry.

Qualifications

• Postdoctoral researcher with experience in computational inorganic chemistry.
• Ability to communicate across disciplines and work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage project tasks across the EXPRESS Programme.

Responsibilities

• Apply computational methods to model precursors and related molecular systems.
• Explore speciation in solvents and in the presence of additives and inhibitors.
• Collaborate with experimentalists and synthesis team to achieve research goals.
