Job summary

The Post Doctoral Research Assistant will join the Surgeon Wellbeing Research Team at Bournemouth University, collaborating with University of Exeter academics. The role targets research on surgeon wellbeing, pilot interventions, support after adverse events, return-to-work protocols and peer-support simulations.

The post is fixed-term for 6 months at 0.4 FTE (14.8 hours/week) with delivering planned outputs and academic publications in collaboration with the team.

Qualifications

• Surgical experience with research background in surgeon wellbeing.
• Strong research skills with track record in wellbeing/performance.
• PhD in a relevant area of surgeon wellbeing or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage research projects on surgeon wellbeing.
• Pilot interventions to improve non-technical surgical skills.
• Study experiences and support after adverse events.
• Develop return-to-work protocols and peer-support simulations.
• Collaborate with Exeter academics and publish outputs.
