University of Leicester's Planetary Science Group invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in planetary atmospheric science. You will work with Professor Leigh Fletcher to study giant planet atmospheres using JWST, ground-based, and Juno observations.

You will invert spectra with NEMESIS to derive temperatures, winds, and cloud properties, contributing to the ERC JWSTVoyager programme and preparing for ELT/JUICE data in the 2030s.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in a research area relevant to planetary science.
• Strong record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
• Familiarity with remote sensing of planetary atmospheres.

Aufgaben

• Invert infrared and microwave spectra using radiative transfer and retrieval tools to derive climatological parameters (temperatures, winds, composition, clouds).
• Work with JWSTVoyager data and other observations to address core project themes.
• Collaborate within a scientific consortium and communicate results clearly.
