Job summary

The Natural Resources Institute at the University of Greenwich seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow specializing in Indigenous Peoples’ food systems. You will work with IP-STATS and Indigenous communities to shape culturally grounded food-systems research addressing nutrition, livelihoods and self-determination.

The role requires experience communicating respectfully with Indigenous communities, designing inclusive research questions and using mixed methods.

Qualifications

• Long-term lived experience with Indigenous Peoples’ cultures, rights, priorities and contemporary issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively, respectfully and inclusively with Indigenous communities.

Responsibilities

• Co-designing culturally grounded food-systems research questions
• Indicators and methods
• Reviewing nutrition
• Public-health and food-systems evidence
• Undertaking quantitative, qualitative and participatory research
• Helping develop, pilot and disseminate the IP-STATS toolkit with partners in Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Peru, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan.
