Job summary

The Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford invites applications for a 1-year Postdoctoral Research Associate in Applied Mathematics and Computational Neuroscience, to work with Professor Lida Kanari. The start date is flexible, with earliest 1st January 2027 and preference for starts between 1st January and 1st June 2027.

The successful candidate will research within the OCIAM group on the grant “Algebraic topology bridging the gap between single neurons and networks” and publish

Qualifications

• PhD in applied mathematics or related discipline.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to write for publication.
• Ability to present research proposals and results to groups.

Responsibilities

• Carry out research in Applied Mathematics and Computational Neuroscience within OCIAM.
• Publish results in refereed journals and proceedings either singly or with co-authors.
• Contribute a small amount of teaching (up to three hours per week during term).
• Collaborate with other researchers at Oxford and internationally.
