Job summary

The University of Dundee is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the lab of Professor Adrian Saurin in the Department of Genome Integrity. This is a fixed-term appointment for 36 months to support a BBSRC-funded project.

The role focuses on developing chemical-genetic systems to inhibit cyclin-substrate interactions, with advanced phospho-proteomics and live-cell imaging to identify partners and study phenotypes.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant scientific area with at least one first author publication.
• Strong background in cell biology with experience of the cell cycle.
• Highly motivated, honest, hard-working, collaborative with excellent organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Generating and validating new chemical-genetic approaches to inhibit cyclin-substrate interactions.
• Using cutting-edge (phospho)-proteomics to identify binding partners and substrates of cyclin/CDKs.
• Employing live-cell microscopy to study phenotypes from inhibition of cyclin/CDK subcomplexes.
• Linking observed phenotypes to specific cyclin-substrates interactions.
