Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Wolverhampton invites applications for a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is a 30-hour week with a rotating schedule (38:10 hours per week for 4 weeks, then 1 week off) and includes Sundays at the North West Midlands Mail Centre.

Training, a uniform, and a red van are provided. Responsibilities include sorting at the office, delivering by van or on foot, building customer relationships, and working outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• Must have a full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) and be able to pass a driving assessment.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and work outdoors in all weather.
• Reliable, self-motivated with strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30 hour contract, working 38:10 hours per week for 4 weeks and then 1 week offhours per week - working 6days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 8:15/14:55*

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
