Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking Postal Delivery Drivers for the Cheshire South area on a temporary basis. You will start the day sorting mail, load your vehicle, and deliver letters and parcels to homes and businesses with a handheld device for tracking.

The role is physically demanding, involves walking up to 20,000 steps per day, and requires a valid UK driving licence with limited penalty points. Training is provided, and ongoing shifts offer weekly or monthly pay options.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence held for a minimum of 6 months.
• No more than 6 penalty points.
• A positive, customer-focused attitude.
• Strong reliability and time-management skills.
• Ability to lift and carry parcels and mail bags.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Previous delivery experience is beneficial but not essential / Full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Starting your day at the local Royal Mail Delivery Office, sorting and preparing mail for delivery.
• Loading your vehicle and setting off on your planned delivery route.
• Delivering letters and parcels safely and efficiently to homes and businesses.
• Using a handheld PDA device for navigation and delivery tracking.
• Providing excellent customer service and representing Royal Mail professionally within the community.

Hours: 30-40 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, with weekend availability required
