Overview

As a Post Room Supervisor at HMRC Manchester. You will deliver the highest standards of customer service while managing an efficient, professional mail service for clients and on-site contractors. This includes sorting, delivering, and franking mail, as well as supervising a small team of Post Room Operatives. The role also involves supporting stationery deliveries, carrying out general cleaning duties, and assisting with catering, reception, or other site tasks when required.

What you'll do
  • Supervise post room staff and daily operations.
  • Sort, deliver, and process incoming and outgoing mail accurately and on time.
  • Manage stationery deliveries and assist with manual handling tasks.
  • Support cleaning, catering, and reception teams when required.
  • Report faults, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Ensure high standards of hygiene, uniform, and PPE use.
  • Maintain safety standards and follow all Health & Safety procedures.
  • Complete paperwork accurately and meet service standards.
  • Assist with recruitment, induction, and probation reviews.
  • Maintain first aid boxes and communicate with departments on collections.
