Post Room Operative
Location: Bristol, BS13
Contract Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: £12.50 per hour, paid weekly - every Friday
Working Hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm
Start Date: 6th May 2025

Job Overview: We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Post Room Operative to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the post room, ensuring efficient handling of all incoming and outgoing mail and documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Opening and Retracting Mail: Efficiently open and sort incoming mail, ensuring it is directed to the appropriate departments.
  2. Vetting Mail: Carefully inspect and vet mail for any discrepancies or issues before distribution.
  3. Manual Filing: Organising and maintain physical files in an orderly manner.
  4. Scanning and Uploading Documents: Digitise documents by scanning and uploading them to the relevant systems.
  5. Shredding Services: Perform shredding of confidential documents in compliance with data protection regulations.

Requirements:

  1. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  2. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  3. Basic computer skills for scanning and uploading documents.
  4. Ability to work in a semi-physical role; handling manual filing and shredding tasks.
  5. Successful candidates must be able to pass a DBS and Credit Check for this role due to on-site security requirements.

Hours of Work:

  1. Working Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.
  2. Preferred shift pattern between 7:30am - 3:30pm (subject to breaks), but the client allows some flexibility for a 7am or 8am start if required.
