Job summary

Rubicon Consulting is seeking a meticulous Post Process Technician to join our Worcestershire manufacturing team on a 6‑month rolling contract. The role focuses on finishing operations and the safe use of pneumatic hand tools to achieve customer specifications.

You will work with production, quality and engineering to drive quality, precision, and efficiency while adhering to 5S practices and health and safety standards. Experience in metal fabrication or precision components is valued.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in post-processing, finishing, fettling, or similar manufacturing roles.
  • Extensive use of pneumatic hand tools: grinders, burrs, die grinders, and sanders.
  • Ability to follow data cards and SOPs to maintain component integrity.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, defence, or industrial manufacturing environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform post-processing and finishing operations on manufactured parts and assemblies.
  • Remove excess material, burrs, and surface imperfections using pneumatic tools.
  • Operate and maintain pneumatic grinders, burr tools, die grinders, and sanders.
  • Carry out deburring, fettling, polishing, surface preparation, and finishing activities to required specifications.
  • Inspect components against engineering drawings, quality standards, and customer requirements.
  • Identify and report defects, non-conformances, or quality concerns.
  • Use measuring and inspection equipment to verify dimensional accuracy where required.
  • Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and health & safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S principles.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving quality, efficiency, and process performance.
  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issues.

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for Post Process Technician on a 6‑Month Rolling Contract, based in Worcestershire.

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Post Process Technician to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of finishing and post‑processing operations on components to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards. A key aspect of this role is the safe and effective use of pneumatic hand tools, including grinders, burrs, sanders, and other finishing equipment. Previous experience using these tools in a manufacturing, fabrication, foundry, machining, aerospace, or engineering environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform post‑processing and finishing operations on manufactured parts and assemblies.
  • Remove excess material, support structures, burrs, and surface imperfections using pneumatic tools.
  • Operate and maintain pneumatic grinders, burr tools, die grinders, sanders, and other finishing equipment.
  • Carry out deburring, fettling, polishing, surface preparation, and finishing activities to required specifications.
  • Inspect components against engineering drawings, quality standards, and customer requirements.

Requirements
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience in a post‑processing, finishing, fettling, fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive experience using pneumatic hand tools, particularly grinders, burr tools, die grinders, and sanders.
  • Demonstrable ability to remove material accurately while maintaining component integrity and dimensional requirements.
  • Ability to follow data cards and SOP’s.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good manual dexterity and practical problem‑solving skills.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience working with metal, castings, additive manufacturing (3D printed parts), or precision‑engineered components.
  • Previous experience in aerospace, automotive, defence, or industrial manufacturing environments is desirable.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and inspection processes.
