Job summary

Oxford Archaeology in Cambridge is seeking a Project Officer for our Post-Excavation team. The role focuses on post-excavation analysis, interpretation, and publication, reporting to the Regional Head of Post-Excavation.

The position offers a permanent, full-time role with flexible hybrid working, a competitive salary of £36,837–£42,640, and opportunities for career development within a large European archaeology practice.

Qualifications

• Experience of post-excavation work and the writing of archaeological reports.
• Good understanding of archaeological stratigraphy and interpretation.
• Thorough knowledge of British archaeology.
• Ability to undertake academic research on relevant subjects.
• Experience with MS Office and database tools; familiarity with AutoCAD/GIS.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Valid driving licence beneficial.
• Membership of CIfA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Post-excavation analysis leading to publication.
• Writing and editing grey literature reports and publications.
• Assisting in project programme management, liaising with stakeholders and monitoring progress and budget.
