This is a fixed-term position, with funding available for 1 year initially.
A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in Prof. David Spring's group for a synthetic chemist with experience in organic synthesis, preferably including complex total synthesis skills. The project focuses on developing new synthetic methodologies for macrocyclization of peptides in aqueous conditions. Examples of related work can be found at [insert link].
Candidates should have, or be close to obtaining, a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry. Expertise in complex natural product total synthesis and an interest in chemical biology are preferred. The candidate should have experience in multi-step organic syntheses and characterization of molecules by NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. An enthusiasm for the biological activity of molecules and a desire to explore interdisciplinary interactions are essential. Excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to collaborate and share expertise within the research group are also required.
