Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Systems Approaches for Accelerating a Just Transition (JUST-Systems)

This is a Post-doctoral Research Associate opportunity as part of a £5.6 million research programme funded by UKRI, focusing on inclusive, community-centric approaches to decarbonisation, especially expanding heat networks in Reading. The role involves qualitative research, stakeholder engagement, and developing holistic systems strategies to support a just transition to net zero carbon emissions.

You Will Have:

• A PhD or equivalent research experience.
• Strong publication record.
• Qualitative research skills including data collection, analysis, stakeholder engagement.
• Knowledge of participatory action research, ethnographic methods, or energy transition systems.
• Experience with social research methods like interviews, focus groups, workshops.
• Experience delivering research presentations and reports.
• Personal qualities: curious, organized, independent, professional.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, travel within UK for research activities, and support policy events.
