Utilising multiple cell types found in and around the kidney, treated to recapitulate the late-stage inflammation of diabetic nephropathy, this project will investigate how sodium glucose transporter inhibitors (SGLT2i) regulate inflammation and fibrosis using different in vitro models of human kidney disease.

We are seeking a skilled Post-Doctoral Research Associate to join the Renal Team, within the Diabetes, Metabolism, and Inflammation (DMI) Group at the School of Life and Environmental Sciences.

You will be a highly motivated individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team and is interested in joining a programme of discovery research which aims to better our understanding of the underlying mechanisms that drive late-stage kidney damage in people with and without diabetes.

You should have a strong background and hold a PhD degree (or have submitted your thesis) in a relevant discipline. You must possess strong communication and written skills, whilst experience in diabetes and renal physiology are desirable but not essential.
