A leading health service provider in Leeds is looking for an experienced Interventional Congenital Cardiology Fellow to provide essential cardiology services within the Congenital Cardiology department. Applicants must possess significant experience in Congenital Cardiology and be GMC registered. This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment dedicated to delivering excellent patient care.
This is an Interventional Congenital Cardiology Fellow post designed to support the service delivered within the Leeds General Infirmary.
Alongside the interventional workload, there will also be some expectation for the applicant to continue to gain experience in Paediatric Cardiology ward patient management, Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive care cardiology, including out of hours cover.
The post will be based at the Jubilee and Clarendon sites within Leeds General Infirmary. The service in Leeds provides paediatric cardiac surgical and interventional treatment for patients from the Yorkshire and Humber region in a dedicated unit of the Leeds Children's Hospital within the Leeds General Infirmary.
The paediatric cardiology ward has 16 inpatient beds, 6 of which are dedicated as High Dependency, but which are managed by the ward team. Following surgery, most patients spend time on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, which is run by a separate team of medical staff but with support from the Cardiology team.
There is a dedicated theatre for Paediatric Cardiac Surgery and a dedicated Cardiac Catheter Lab which is also equipped to be used as a Hybrid Theatre/Lab to allow for joint working between interventional and surgical teams if required.
Adult services including Adult Congenital Cardiology are also present on-site the Paediatric Cardiology team work closely with the ACHD team to ensure that patients with Congenital Heart Disease receive excellent care.
Provision of Interventional Paediatric and Adult Cardiology Services within the Hospital with responsibility for the prevention, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of illness within the Congenital Cardiology department. Ward and on-call work including care of Paediatric Cardiology inpatients.
Close working with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to assist in providing high quality patient care.
