Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting for a SEND English Teacher (Post-16) in Oldham to deliver tailored English lessons for students aged 16-19 with complex learning needs within a progressive specialist setting.

You will teach Functional Skills, Entry Level and GCSE pathways, plan differentiated lessons and collaborate with the SENCO, staff and carers to support each student’s EHCP outcomes and independence goals.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching in an SEN setting (or strong SEN knowledge).
• Calm, empathetic and resilient approach to classroom management.
• Commitment to inclusive education and student progress.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality English teaching to post-16 students, including Functional Skills, Entry Level and GCSE pathways where appropriate.
• Plan and differentiate engaging lessons to meet EHCP outcomes and Preparing for Adulthood goals.
• Work closely with the SENCO, support staff and parents/carers to provide a consistent and holistic approach.
