Job summary

REESON Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN LSA to join a Post-16 provision in Edgware. You will support students with SLD and ASD, helping them develop functional and life skills and build independence through practical activities and travel training.

Working closely with teachers, you will deliver a practical curriculum focused on employability and independence, fostering positive relationships and consistent support to help students achieve their individual targets.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with SEN, ideally in a specialist school or Post-16 setting.
• Experience supporting young people with ASD, SLD or complex learning needs.
• Genuine interest in developing functional, life and independence skills.
• Ability to support students in classroom and practical learning environments.
• Calm, consistent approach with good communication and relationship-building skills.
• Post-16 SEN experience desirable; strong SEN experience with older students considered.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Post-16 students with SLD, ASD and additional learning needs.
• Support students with their functional and life skills.
• Help students develop greater independence in everyday situations.
• Support learning around travel training, communication, community access and employability.
• Assist students with practical activities and work-related learning.
• Provide classroom and individual support where required.
• Help students access a varied and practical Post-16 curriculum.
• Build positive relationships with students and encourage progress.
• Work alongside teachers and other education professionals to help students achieve their individual targets.
