Job summary

Pertemps Education Network is seeking a Post-16 SEN Teacher to provide full-time cover at an independent SEN school in Kingston upon Thames. The role focuses on developing practical literacy and numeracy through real-life applications for Post-16 students.

You will deliver engaging lessons, adapt to individual needs, and work with support staff to promote independence and confidence in learning. Start date ASAP, hours 08:00–17:00, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experienced with SEN students, ideally KS2/KS3 or specialist setting.
• Ability to adapt lessons for a range of additional needs.
• Focus on practical, real-life literacy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach Post-16 students within a specialist SEN setting.
• Deliver practical and engaging literacy and numeracy sessions.
• Apply English and maths skills to real-life and functional situations.
• Adapt lessons and resources to meet individual learning needs.
• Support students with additional needs, including communication, learning and behavioural needs.
• Work closely with support staff to provide consistent and individualised support.
• Promote independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Maintain a positive, structured and supportive classroom environment.
