We are a leading recruitment agency looking to fill an exciting opportunity for a full-time Construction Tutor to join a dynamic SEND school in Newcastle. The school are looking for someone with strong knowledge in Engineering/ Construction. Main Duties:
Tutors plan and deliver engaging sessions that cover a range of construction skills, often tailored to different levels of experience and learning needs.
They embed the development of functional skills in English, Maths, and ICT within the construction curriculum, ensuring learners have a well-rounded skill set.
Tutors create and adapt learning materials, including lesson plans, practical activities, and assessments, to support effective learning.
They assess learners' performance, provide feedback, and track their progress using various methods, including portfolio development and electronic record keeping.
Tutors may incorporate technology into their teaching, such as using electronic portfolios to track learner progress and manage information
Person Specification:
Tutors work with learners individually and in small groups, offering tailored guidance and support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
They foster a positive learning environment and encourage learners to attend regularly, participate actively, and take responsibility for their learning.
Tutors identify and address any barriers to learning, such as behavioural issues or learning difficulties, and provide appropriate support or refer learners to specialist services.
They use a trauma-informed, relational approach to behaviour management, helping learners feel safe, respected, and understood.
Tutors collaborate with support services, parents/carers, and other external agencies to ensure learners receive the necessary support to succeed
