About The Opportunity

TES 2000 has a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established rail safety company as Possession Support Staff within the North East Possessions Management Department.

The Possession Support Staff will join our Possessions Management Department, on a 0-hour contract, with availability mainly during nights on weekends. We are ideally looking for new colleagues based in and around Leeds, Huddersfield, Doncaster areas.

We are looking for fully qualified staff and can offer development opportunities to help you achieve your potential! For those with a PTS, we are holding IWA and PS training during the week commencing 19th May 2025.

You will be instrumental in ensuring the continued safety of all TES 2000 staff and contracted staff. TES 2000 offers various pay models including Umbrella, CiS, and PAYE to provide flexibility that suits your lifestyle and needs.

About You

The ideal Possession Support Staff will:

  • Be willing and able to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing.
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, a white hat with Personal Track Safety (PTS), IWA, or COSS & PS Tickets. Training for IWA (not applicable if COSS is held) and PS tickets will be available during the week commencing 19th May 2025.
  • Have availability for day, night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts.
  • Hold a driving license and have access to a vehicle.

The Possession Support Staff Typical Shift

  • Assist as a team member in managing the rail line possession.
  • Attend (S)PICOP and COSS briefings; raise concerns if messages are unclear.
  • Support pre-possession checks and briefings; be in place at blocking points at least one hour in advance.
  • Monitor blocking points, place boards, and detonators according to Network Rail guidelines.
  • Attend worksites to carry out safety audits on behalf of Network Rail.
  • Support site walkouts (pre-work) to understand the environment and investigate safety concerns.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation and railway rules.
  • Communicate with (S)PICOP before placing or lifting protection.
  • Understand safety regulations and report incidents, accidents, near misses, or concerns immediately.
