Job summary

Priory Hospital Woodbourne in Edgbaston, near Birmingham, is seeking a PBS Practitioner. The role focuses on delivering Positive Behaviour Support, assessments and person-centred care to improve wellbeing and reduce restrictive practices.

You will work with individuals, families and multidisciplinary teams, develop and review PBS interventions, and contribute to a safe, recovery-focused environment in a busy mental health setting. Full-time position with ample training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or related field.
• Experience conducting behavioural assessments and PBS interventions.

Priory Hospital Woodbourne is seeking a PBS Practitioner to join our team.

Set in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, just a short distance from Birmingham City Centre, Priory Hospital Woodbourne provides a welcoming and well-connected working environment within beautifully maintained grounds. What you'll be doing

We’re looking for a Positive Behaviour Support to drive the implementation and delivery of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) across the service. You’ll work collaboratively with individuals, colleagues, families and multidisciplinary teams to promote positive, person-centred approaches that improve wellbeing and quality of life, while supporting the reduction of restrictive practices.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support behavioural assessments and the delivery of PBS interventions.
• Deliver person-centred care and therapeutic activities.
• Assist with the implementation and review of individual care plans.
• Promote a safe, structured and recovery-focused environment.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support positive outcomes.
• Contribute to high-quality, innovative and holistic mental health services

What you'll bring to the role

Essential Experience:

Formal qualification in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or a related field, such as Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Applied Behaviour Analysis or Autism Studies. Experience conducting behavioural assessments and developing, implementing and reviewing PBS interventions, with experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism. Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management and the Mental Health Act (1983), alongside experience producing reports and maintaining accurate records. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is also required.

Desirable Experience:

Experience delivering Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) training, with a proven track record of reducing restrictive practices and promoting positive outcomes. Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare or mental health settings, with knowledge of rehabilitation, recovery-focused or secure services.
