A community-focused health organization in Liverpool is seeking a Positive Action Engagement Officer for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This full-time role involves outreach to promote career opportunities within the NHS, especially among under-represented communities. The ideal candidate will possess strong community engagement skills and organizational abilities. A driving license and access to a vehicle are required, as travel across Merseyside is expected.

Contract: 12-month fixed term contract
Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week
Are you passionate about community engagement and helping people achieve their full potential? If so, we are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive community-focused individual to join us as a Positive Action Engagement Officer to help promote our careers.
In this role, you will be at the heart of our efforts to build stronger connections with diverse communities, primarily across Merseyside, with some outreach in South Greater Manchester. By being a part of our Positive Action Team, you will help raise awareness of NWAS career opportunities amongst groups that are under-represented in the trust and play a key role in helping build a workforce that truly reflects the range of communities we serve.

As a Positive Action Engagement Officer, you will reach out to and engage with communities and groups which are currently under-represented in our workforce, and will provide support in bringing their talent, experiences, and expertise to roles within the trust.
You will also build new, and strengthen existing, connections with the voluntary, community and faith sector, and organisations who support individuals into employment, promoting the trust as an employer of choice and raising awareness of our career opportunities.
You will support careers and community events, and organise the delivery of a range of innovative careers-focused activities. You will provide information, advice and guidance to prospective applicants, and signpost them to additional support to improve their chances of obtaining employment within the trust.
This role will involve regular (weekly) travel across Merseyside and you will occasionally be a required to support activities in other areas of the trust too. Opportunities to work from home will be limited. A full driving licence and access to a car is required.
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
